ryan and O callaghan families who immigrated to australia some time in the 1800's lived in either Tiparery or Limerick. Henry Ryan or Harriet Ryan(O Callaghan) lived in the Echuca area Victoria. Henry was drowned at a flood in Echuca. They had One son John my granfather and Harriet my Great Aunt and also another brother who left the area and wa never heard from again.

Josephine Mary Ryan born in Tipperary Ireland 1893--married Major Thomas Woodward 1914[ ? ]Thomas died 1915 their daughter Maureen [ Mary ] born April 1915.Josephine married [ ? ]Albert Henry May in 1915 --they moved to England where Josephine worked as a laundress and Albert as a butler for the Earl of Harward.In 1925 they came to Australia with Maureen and their sons Albert and Gerald May.Two more boys born in Aust.--Reginald and Derek May. I am trying to trace the Ryans of Thurles Tipperary for my husband--son of Maureen Woodward and would really appreciate any help, particularly from the "Ryans " or maybe the Woodwards whom I think came from England.

My great grandfather James Ryan was from county clare but I don't know which town. He was born between 1834 & 1839. He immigrated to the Uninted States in the 1850's. He married Bridget Welsh born 1845 in county clare. They were married in Monroe, Benton county Iowa about 1869.
