Anyone out there related to Sarah Finucane born c1816? She was a music teacher, married to poet and graduate of TCD William Ledger born around same time from Limerick. They were my great great great grandparents. They lived in Limerick until about 1840 when they settled in London. Their first three children, Jemima, Sarah and Jeanette/Janette were born in Limerick. Their other children -- Frances, William, Edward and Caroline were born in London. The younger Sarah married George Holroyd from Halifax and they had one daughter Julia, my great grandmother, who married Charles Carter in 1880. They were licensed victuallers.

My Grandfathers name is Alfred Finucane and grew up in the Hawkes Bay District. I know his Grantfather immigrated to New Zealand from Cork in Ireland. It would be great to hear from other Finucanes around - not to many here in Little New Zealand!!

My great grandmother Bridget Reynolds was born c1850 in Ennistymon, Co. Clare and gave her mother's name as Kate Kanok or Kate Finucane. Bridget married in Ipswich Queensland in 1865 to Michael Murphy from Co. Tipperary. Finucane could have been Kate's second marriage because that is her name on her daughter's death certificate.

I've been told that my 3x great grandmother was born Ellen Finucane (married name Burke). She brought up her granddaughter who was born in 1875 in Kinvara and I'm pretty sure that she lived in or around Kinvara. Her daughter Lucy Burke married Richard Holmes Philips and the moved to London before their daughter's first birthday, leaving her with Ellen. If anyone has more information, please contact me. Lucy's baptism is apparently in the parish records in the national library in Dublin, but I won't be able to research there for a while. Thanks.

My grandmother was Mary Finucane. She came from Ireland about 1888 and by 1891 was in Jersey City, NJ. I assume that she was from the west of Ireland because one of my uncles did mention Cork and Clare when he "joked" about our family history. If you have any Finucane family with a Jersey City, New Jersey connection, please get in touch with me.
