James Bernard Barrett born c.1857 Ballinasloe, Galway, was the son of John and Margaret Barrett (nee Molloy). James immigrated to Franklinford, Victoria, Australia possibly in the late 1870's and married his cousin Elizabeth Margaret Molloy in 1880. At this point in time I don't know anything further regarding James' parents nor if he had any siblings.

John Barrett born abt 1858, die abt 1942 from Killaderia, Ballyforan, Ballinasloe. He had eight sons: Dan, Thomas, James, John, Thomas, Martin, Peter, and Pat. They were all born in Killaderia. Thomas Barrett married Margaret Mulleague from Lissavuggy, Ireland. His son Pat is still living in Ballinasloe. Does anyone have any further information?

Martin Barrett

My paternal grandfather was apparently American of Irish extraction, and his name was Martin Barrett. He was a pianist who moved to Glasgow and died in an accident in NYC before the Second World War. I have no idea if there is a Galway connection.

After having 4 children: John Joseph, Maria Teresa, Julianna, and Luke Zephanius, the family moved to Galway Ireland (possibly where Maurice was originally from) where they had 4 more children: Isabella, Cahtarine Agnes, Julia Anna Gertrude, and Maurice Ultanus. Maria Catharine died prior to April 2, 1883 in Ballinasloe.

My great-grandfather Anthony Barrett was born on 26 April 1854 (we think in County Mayo) Ireland. He immigrated to South Africa in 1883 (possibly under the 1883 Free Immigration Act). On the ship over he met Karolina Muller, a novice nun with the Sisters of the Holy Cross, Lucerne, Switzerland. They married and settled in Kimberley, South Africa. I am trying to find out more details about Anthony Barrett (parents, siblings etc.)

barrett molly lived bethnal green stafford cripps house globe road e2 please see write up on maddon list name for write upto the background of some irish families in london during 1950s who went on from irelands emmigration to london at anbd around that, i knew a molly barrett her husband died 1970s too fond drink although he worked hard laboured building like most out of that square [i mention again see under namelist maddon lawrence i have written] molly came from cork as far as i can recall she had a daughter hairdresser pauline aged if lived would be 53 but she died in her 30year]had children2/ there is a son john barrett age around 47 believe him to still be resided in bethnal green flats above massingham chemist oppisite the market square green street going onto the roman road bethnal green he is a batchelor .

im looking for some info on my great grandad i belive he came from ireland and moved to bristol. His name was william wilson barrett ,but dont know his wifes name im stuck on !! I cant get any further than him ..his sons name was albert ernest barrett and i belive he was 1 of 10 children??? James Barrett came to the US in 1901 to live with his aunt, Mary Audley Keady, from Moycullen, County Galway, who was living with her children in Pittsburgh. Mary Audley Keady is my great-great- grandmother. She arrived in the US in 1892 with her six children and went to Pittsburgh where her husband Thomas died three months later. She is the daughter of Robert Audley and Bridget Hurney

Grandfather's mother was Mary Barret, dau of Edmond "Ned" and Penelope "Nappy" Gaughan. Mary was born in 1946 in Shraigh, belmullett parish, Co Mayo and emigrated from Ireland to Holyoke, MA in 1899 with son Richard Dent, passage paid by son Michael Dent. Ned re-married in 1859 and he and family emigrated from Mayo in 1883, free Immigration. My grandmother was Anne Barrett, dau of Henry "Harry" and Bridget Cosgrave. Born Nov1, 1878 in Doolough, Co. Mayo. Married michael Dent in Holyoke, in 1902.

William Barret joined Army Medical Dept in 1841 after graduating from Trinity College Dublin in 1834. Born 1815 prseumed Dublin. Served in Canada, Crimea and eventually returned to England and then Scotland where he died in 1891. Subsequent family history is English leading down to my wife Jill Barrett. Nothing known of William's family or history.
