In general, with notable exceptions, this coast does not have the expansive spectacular sandy beaches of other parts of Ireland. There are many beaches, but in general they are small and often have stone or gravel as well as, or even instead of, sand!
We will include freshwater lake beaches as well as sea beaches. Enjoy, be sensible, take care and if you can't find a suitable place to dispose of your rubbish, please bring it home to your own bin! Remember, it only becomes litter when someone drops it.
